Site Manager at Hill View School, Martock/Ash, Somerset.
We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a dedicated School Site Manager to join our new team. Hill View School is a brand new school and will be opening in Sep 2024 for the first 60 pupils. This crucial position will oversee the physical environment of the school, ensuring they are safe, secure and well maintained. As the guardian of our premises, the role is central to creating an Optimal learning environment for staff.
Main responsibilities include:
Managing and maintaining the school's premises to the highest standards. /the School Site Manager will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the school's physical environment:
- Effectively manage and oversee the school's sites, ensuring they are safe, tidy, and conducive to learning.
- Liaise with contractors for necessary maintenance, repairs, and safety checks as per statutory compliance and school policy.
- Ensure the functionality of all school facilities including lighting, heating, and emergency systems through regular inspection and maintenance schedules.
- Manage the school's security systems, acting as the first point of contact for out-of-hours calls and emergencies.
- Oversee the cleaning team to maintain high standards of cleanliness across all areas.
- Engage with school staff, pupils, and the wider school community, facilitating events and activities by managing required space and resources.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of cost-effective practices across school operations.
- Promote sustainability and environmental awareness within the school.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has significant experience in site management, particularly within an educational setting.
- Shows strong leadership capabilities and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Exhibits excellent communication and organisational skills, with a sharp focus on detail.
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of health and safety legislation and practices.
- Is highly motivated, adaptable, and prepared to meet the changing needs of the school community.
- Commits to the ethos and values of the school, including the importance of creating an inclusive environment.
- Has a current DBS check or is prepared to undergo one.

Salary: Competitive
Hours: Full time - 37 hours with occasional out-of-hours for events and emergencies
