West Monkton Church of England Primary School currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to join the team as a Learning Mentor.

This exciting role will involve working intensively with SEND pupils - including those with neurodiversity.
The main responsibilities of the role are:
- To support pupils within the school setting and within educational settings within the community.
- To provide opportunities for pupils to develop resilience, knowledge and skills that lead to success.
- To support pupils to develop confidence and independence.
- To work with pupils 1:1 and sometimes in small groups.
- To support pupil’s social, emotional and mental health.
- To support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of their school life.
Job requirements
- Experience of supporting children or adults with neurodiversity or complex needs.
- Good standard of general education to GCSE or equivalent.
- Teaching Assistant qualification desirable.
- A positive approach and a good sense of humour.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in tandem with teaching staff and families.
- Ability to be empathetic and resilient .
Hours of work: The role will initially be 4 days a week with potential for full time. Term time only. 24.32 hours a week
Salary: Support Staff Pay Grade 15, £13,177.21 p/a
